Dropshipping and You

If you’re looking to sell merch for your brand but don’t want to deal with inventory and shipping, dropshipping is the solution for you.

February, 2020

There’s a bit to learn, but stick with it and you’ll be ready to go in no time.

Know that there are many dropshipping companies out there, and while some are great not all provide the quality and premier customer service one would want. We’ve chosen Printful because of their continued support and excellence experienced by us and our clients.

What is Dropshipping?

Dropshipping is what it sounds like, your business sells its products online and drops the shipping part (we’ll explain soon). This is an ideal solution for smaller businesses that don’t want to handle order processing and shipping.

Dropshipping companies, like Printful, allow businesses/brands to create custom products to sell in their online stores.

The impact well-designed t-shirts, hats, phone cases, and more has on your audience is huge (here is a great one we set up). It shows you are involved with your brand, and allows people to connect with it and promote it for you.

Printful does this service by offering printing on demand, which means as soon as an order is placed through your store, they’ll print your design on one of their items, and ship it to your customer for you!

It’s simple, your customer pays through your online store. Your store automatically sends the order to Printful. Finally, Printful creates the product on the fly, and ships it out to the customer for you.

Sounds too good to be true, huh?

Well, lots of big names use dropshipping to make their online stores more fun and generate extra income for their business, and you can too!

Getting Started – What to Expect:

Getting started with dropshipping is not hard – you just need some time to pick and design your products! Here is a breakdown on how to get started:

1. Create a Printful Account

You must create an account through Printful in order to create and save your products. Registering is super easy – just fill out the brief form, and then follow the steps required to link your account to your online ecommerce store!

2. Customize Products

Now that your account is set up, it’s time to start designing your products! You can put your logo, brand name, or a catchy slogan on any of the products listed in Printful.

Have fun with it! If design is not your expertise, don’t worry – there are other ways to get awesome products up on your site.

One way is to hire a designer. There are many freelance designers available, and a great place to start is through Fiverr.

These designers can create all of the custom products for you on your Printful account. Look for designers with high ratings and lots of experience to ensure that you’re getting the best design service.

Trust us: you will sell way more products if you implement a sleek and modern design!

If you’re having trouble give us a call and we can help you get your store linked!

3. Put the products on your website!

Once you’re satisfied with your products Printful will send the products to your website  for you, but there are some other details that you’ll want to consider before your products go live:

Product Price:

If Printful is charging you $10 for a T-shirt, what do you charge? See, this is where Tech and Mech specializes. We know it takes extra time to research all the little details, so we’ve assembled some of the best pricing guides out there for you!
